The rules for booking practical car driving tests are changing to make things fairer and more secure.
👉 From 31 March 2026, you’ll only be able to change your driving test up to 2 times (this used to be 6).
This applies to all car driving tests, and when the new rule starts, everyone will get 2 changes, no matter how many times you’ve already changed your test.
🔄 A “change” includes:
• Changing the date or time
• Changing the test centre
• Swapping a test with another learner
💡 Top tip: Only book your test when you feel ready, make sure to discuss this with your instructor, and choose a test centre that’s easy for you to get to – it’ll save you stress later!
