Big changes are coming to driving test bookings in 2026. If you’re planning a test it’s important to know how these updates could affect you. At Begin Driving, we’ve broken down the key changes so you can stay ahead.
1. From 31 March 2026 – Fewer changes allowed
Starting 31 March 2026, you’ll only be able to make two changes to your existing driving test booking.
This means it’s more important than ever to plan your test carefully. Double-check your schedule and make sure you’re ready before booking or moving your test.
2. From 12 May 2026 – Only learners can manage bookings
From 12 May 2026, only learner drivers will be able to:

Book a driving test

Make changes to an existing booking
Family members, instructors, or third parties will no longer be able to make changes on your behalf.
3. From 9 June 2026 – Limited test centre changes
From 9 June 2026, learners will only be able to move their driving test to a nearby test centre.
This means you won’t be able to switch to a test centre far away, so pick your location wisely.
